Can you introduce yourself?
Jared Willey, Co-owner of Advanced Onsite Services, Inc., Vermont’s largest I/A service provider.
Can you provide some background of your experience in the onsite wastewater field?
I began my career in wastewater treatment at age 19. Fresh out of college with an associates degree in Ecology and Environmental Technology (Paul Smith’s College ‘99) I landed an operator position at a cheese factory utilizing a Bio-Lac aerated lagoon system. I soon transitioned to a new opportunity with USFilter (Violia) operating a Living Machine package plant at a local ski resort. In 2004 I joined Wastewater Technologies Inc, a New England Orenco dealer and developed the field services department with the help of my partner Dave Mead. In 2011 Dave and I purchased the service wing of the dealership and have been growing it ever since. We are currently the Vermont PercRite and Nibbler reps and commercial/municipal Advantex reps (covering Vermont) and employ 8 technicians. Our focus is on preventive and routine maintenance of I/A and pressure dosed onsite systems as well as high strength and difficult waste streams.
Why were you interested in joining YOWA’s Board?
I have worked with several of the current and past board members and finally have a few extra minutes to “give back” and share my expertise.
What would you like to accomplish during your term on the Board?
I’d like to expand YOWA’s reach in Vermont and use our collective experience to educate a new generation of designers and contractors.
